A certain number of ports are not available under MAC OS 10.7, even
when compiling from source code. As to get binary downloads, like it is ususal
on a Debian like system ? This explains the "needless to say".

Fine, since it is speedier. But clisp has advantages is some cases, for
example, when doing computations with a lot of digits - this was mentioned
a couple of weeks ago, or when you want to step in the debugger, where the
compiled lisps are much harder to follow. So i suppose the best solution is to
be able to compile maxima with both compiled and interpreted lisps.

Sure, but if you do fink list clisp or fink install clisp or apt-cache search
clisp or similar under 10.7 you get nothing, which for all practical purposes
is the same as having been removed. Anyways, the solution to the error which
appears in the build is, as explained in the macports, very simple:
stdbool.h -> gllib/stdbool.h in lispbibl.d, under src. There are other
problems when one builds outside of fink or macports, but it appears they are
already cared of in fink and macports.
