Maxima mentioned on Slashdot

I don't know whether other list members follow Slashdot, but this is a
current posting:

http://science.slashdot.org/story/12/12/14/214231/ask-slashdot-replacing-a-ti-84-with-software-on-a-linux-box

The poster is a high school student who needs to replace his ancient
TI-84. He understands and already runs Maxima, but he claims that this
and other math tools lack (or are awkward) for the capabilities of a
basic calculator.

This doesn't seem accurate, but I don't consider myself competent to
address his issue. Surely other Maxima members will. This heads up is
for an excellent opportunity to get Maxima some exposure in this
important (but somewhat vicious) tech forum.
