Ahmet, thanks for your report. I do not know about Windows 8
compatibility, but it might be helpful if you told us *how exactly* it is
"not compatible with windows 8".
- Does Windows or Maxima give an error message when you start it? (If
so, what error message?)
- Does Maxima give some sort of error after starting?
- Does it run but give incorrect results? (e.g. bad layout)
- Do some features (e.g. plotting) not work?
- What version of Maxima did you try to start? Command line? wxMaxima?
XMaxima?
- After you started Maxima and/or XMaxima/wxMaxima, what processes are
running?
Also, how did you install Maxima? It sounds as though you downloaded the
binary?
Did you do anything to tell the Windows firewall that the Maxima front end
(if you're using one) is authorized to talk to the Maxima back end?
