Wiki - was Re: [Maxima] Interpolation function

Hi Glenn,

Yes, that makes sense to me. There is at present a page
http://maxima.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Maxima%20helpful%20hints
with more stuff of the same flavor. Starting a new page seems fine too.

That is a very interesting idea. As the existing wiki is sketchy,
poorly organized, and hit or miss on any given topic -- all very
well and good considering its purpose -- I would suggest that a
wiki-to-book project be undertaken in a wiki dedicated to the purpose.
It's probably feasible to arrange to have two wikis hosted at
SourceForge. Another possibility is to make use of Wikibooks,
which is a Wikimedia project (Wikipedia owners) to write textbooks.
Wikibooks might be a good choice since I think a Maxima book is
neatly aligned w/ Wikibooks stated mission, and their web site is
all set up and running.

This topic of written contributions raises a licensing issue which
I'll address in a separate thread.

All the best, & thanks for your interest in Maxima,
Robert Dodier
