Don't worry about the GCL list - I'm reading it intermittently.

I've had no trouble with Maxima 5.9.3 on Windows XP Professional SP2.

Have you tried uninstalling reinstalling?

Get a copy of the MS program "depends.exe" and see if there is a missing
DLL.
