You mentioned a couple of things to work on after the 5.10.0 release.
I would like to encourage you to go ahead, just commit the changes
to CVS head instead of the release branch. Then the release can go
ahead and it will not be affected by any such changes.
Of course, if you prefer to wait for some other reason, that is OK also.
