Can't use iMath on MacOS-X

I did the installation (Fink user), wrote the .emacs as asked,  
entered Aqua Emacs 22.0.50.1 and loaded the imath-mode (ok).

Then typed :

Theorem:
{maxima binomial(n,p)=1 maxima}

followed by C-c ! Emacs says "processing maxima output" and ...

{maxima binomial(n,p)=1 maxima}&{latex LaTex error in: {n\choose p}=1  
latex}

My maxima is 5.9.3 and works fine. Any help ?

P.S. My LaTeX installation is fine/Fink, I use LaTeX-It on a regular  
basis.
