Sorry, now I found what I did wrong.

I followed the link to this file under

http://maxima.sourceforge.net/relatedprojects.shtml

(2. under TeXmacs),
and opened the newest file version (1.14). The Link "download" gives an
error (with Seamonkey 1.0.5), so I opened it clicking "1.14", saved it
from the browser and later removed the html parts preceding #!/bin/sh.

same as above with the first link on

http://maxima.sourceforge.net/relatedprojects.shtml

"download" opens an empty window here, so I did almost the same as
above, but I forgot to remove the html stuff from the saved file
afterwards - this was my mistake.

First Maxima, then WinTeXmacs.

But this was just what I did (under Win XP Pro SP2, after the first
attempt failed due to the corrupted texmacs-maxima-5.10.0.lisp file and
I uninstalled TeXmacs again), and it works (apart from the fact that
TeXmacs converts all output to upper case here).

Thanks for your help and kind regards
