I don't recommend the existing "Maxima Book". It puts a lot of
emphasis on stuff that is not important, misses stuff that is important,
and is very verbose throughout.
Maybe someone will write another book-length treatment. (I suspect
the necessary focus is easier for one author than for a group.)
In the meantime, there are many good tutorials, e.g. the one by
Anthony Cangiano in English and the one by Mario Rodriguez in Spanish.
Maybe someone could just burn all the tutorials onto a CD and
distribute it (assuming permission is obtained for that).
