Thanks for your notes.

I wasn't clear enough. I do know how to make a screen shot. I would like
to re-generate the screenshots on the maxima page. For example, the
first screenshot is of a Mobius band, with some shading, in an xmaxima
window. The second screen shot is similar.

I don't know how to make graphs in xmaxima appear inline, and I don't
know how to get the coloring in those plots (the pm3d terminal produces
a more gaudy coloring which makes the 3d aspect more difficult to see,
in my eyes). 

I was hoping that someone had created the shots via a script, or some such,
so I could reproduce some of them in real time.

On a side note, I did install imaxima today, so I really only need to
know how to reproduce the first two screenshots in xmaxima. Imaxima is 
a nice piece of software.

< for my talks using Gimp.
< In the "File" menu I select Create -> Screenshot
< (in older versions it was Acquire -> Screenshot).
< I then select the options "Take a screenshot of a single Window",
< "Include window decoration" and Delay: 0 seconds.
< When one clicks on "Snap", the screenshot dialog disappears and clicking
< on the window we want, a graphic is created in Gimp that can then be
< saved in PNG format (avoid JPEG for screenshots).
< Sometimes I use "Filters" -> "Enhance" -> "Sharpen" to make the image
< sharper.
